Michigan native Dr. Kenneth Wallace earned his MD from Wayne State University and his BA in Health Sciences and Religion from Kalamazoo College. Dr. Wallace completed his General Surgical Internship at the Orlando Regional Medical Center, his Emergency Medicine Residency at Wayne State University and his Dermatology and Mohs training at the Skin Cancer and Cosmetic Dermatology Centers in Dalton, Georgia through the American Board of Physicians Specialists.
After moving from Michigan to the Sunshine State for the warm weather and year-round waterskiing, Dr. Wallace met Dr. Mike Morgan who introduced him to innovations in dermatology. Because of his immediate interest in the advancements in skin cancer treatment, Dr. Wallace became certified in Dermatology and completed Mohs Surgery training.
From 2000-2003, Dr. Wallace was the volunteer Team Physician for the United States National Championship Water-ski Team. During his time as the Team Physician, he traveled to Chile, Italy, and several cities across the State of Florida. Appointed as a diplomat by the American Board of Physician Specialists, Dr. Wallace has also served on several committees including the State of Florida Department of Medicaid Fraud and Abuse and the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
In 2018, Dr. Wallace was named Physician of the Year by the American Board of Physician Specialists and has experience as an Associate Clinical Professor at Florida State University’s College of Medicine.
In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Wallace writes and edits medical textbooks and e-books. One of his most recent e-books Keys to Medicine was published in 2018 and can be found on the Notebook of Medicine.com website. His publications seek to present medicine and healthcare in a way that anyone can understand and enjoy. Dr. Wallace values collaboration and sharing knowledge with anyone interested in learning more about the world of medicine and health sciences.
Dr. Wallace is a Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon here at Citrus Dermatology . Employing a personalized approach to patient care, Dr. Wallace believes in connecting with his patients and making them as happy and comfortable as possible before, during, and after their treatment.
Some of Dr. Wallace’s hobbies include waterskiing, relaxing outdoors, medical research, and writing.
In describing his inspiration for becoming a doctor, Dr. Wallace stated, “I believe God’s greatest creation is the human body, and what better way for me to honor God than to study the human body?”
